More Like Jesus –Conversations on Core Issues of Faith
A PEAK Gathering Led By Andy Wilson and Friends
Each week throughout the fall we shine a light on a different aspect of our walk with God.
We consider various perspectives including teaching from the Bible and respected theologians,
then enjoy conversation on the challenges of following the Lord in our daily lives. Adults and
mature high school students who are eager to grow are welcome to participate. Regular
participation is encouraged but not required. Join us each Wednesday 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the
John Estelle Room (adjacent to the sanctuary balcony).

Message by Andy Wilson: More Like Jesus – Peaceful
Throughout September our series of messages will help you to become “More Like Jesus.” First we’ll learn from the New Testament about “God’s Big Plan” (9/3), which is to shape us into the character of Jesus. Then we’ll discover “How We Grow” (9/10) as we cooperate with the Spirit God has given us. Throughout the rest of the series we’ll see how, by walking with Jesus, we can become more “Prayerful” (9/17) and “Peaceful” (9/24)
Paul urges us to “put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:24). Let’s seek the Lord’s help in fulfilling that high calling. And let’s bring friends to church and introduce them to our wonderful God – the God who reveals himself in his Son Jesus.
During this inexpensive weekend adventure we’ll join with Christian friends in Baja to continue construction of the foundation of Casa de Los Angeles, an orphanage that will eventually accommodate 38 children.
Anyone high school age or older is welcome. The work site is located on a hill above the city with an
ocean view. We’ll sleep at a comfortable, secure mission compound, worship at a dynamic local church
and feast at three wonderful restaurants. Watch for the brochure and registration form at LCPC or on the
church web site (LCPC.net).
Mark your calendars and save your blood donations for the Deacons Blood Drive, Sunday, October 8.
Note: a person may donate every 56 days. Watch for sign-up information.
